Capturing the Moment...
Today I brought in a new lensball and set it up in the gallery for students to do an impromptu photo shoot with. They arranged objects on and around it and had fun photographing each other through it as well. The crystal ball like lens turns the image upside down and puts it into a sphere. I cannot wait to see the pictures the students took today! I loved watching them grab everything from odds and ends laying around to the Christmas lights right off my little Charlie Brownish tree to incorporate into their photographs. The artwork on the walls by Painting and Drawing also provided interesting subject matter for the students of digital art as they brought the traditional work into their world of photography. We then used this as a way to discuss the issue of copyright in art, in relation to appropriation. To emphasize the difference we discussed artists who have used other artists work but given it new context and meaning. Stay tuned for their photos from the shoot!

P-TECH GAMING ARTS & SCIENCES AT JHS
We had SO much fun photographing the Gaming Arts & Sciences P-Tech students at the beginning of the year! The pictures will be part of a monthly ongoing project with this amazing group of students until they graduate! I cannot wait to work with them this spring when they take digital art with me next!
